I was born into the cult too, cofty. I would HOPE that if I had not been born one I would've had enough wisdom to research it thoroughly before being drawn in. I would HOPE that I would have researched the beliefs and the history enough to decide if it was true or false.
Of course, I will never know...
I would like to talk to someone that was not a JW, researched it's history and beliefs thoroughly and decided that it was the only true religion. I can't know for sure, but I would go out on a limb and say that MOST or perhaps...ALL people that do fall for it did not do a thorough researching of it.

Why do JW read more into something than what you mean or state?
by sinis inlong story short wifes friend was preaching non stop during an emotional time for my wife.
emailed friend and kindly asked to stop preaching but still be a friend.
friend no longer contacts wife and wife is sad.

Interestingly I see the accusation that Jesus is just based on specific myths ALL the time on this site. Yet, when the "proof" comes out, no one wants to touch this topic. Which myth or myths was Jesus based on? It's easier to just make general broad accusations. But when it gets right down to it....many people that make these declarations are missing from the discussion.
